Land Acknowledgment Statement:
I acknowledge that my business is located on the ancestral lands of the Ho-Chunk Nation. This land, now known as Madison, Wisconsin, is also known as Teejop (Day-Jope), a place where the Ho-Chunk people have lived, cultivated, and honored for generations. I pay my respects to the Ho-Chunk Nation, their elders past and present, and extend our gratitude for their stewardship of this land.
I also recognize that this land has deep historical, cultural, and spiritual significance to many Native nations. We honor the traditions, languages, and teachings of the Indigenous peoples who continue to call this region home.
I am committed to fostering a space that is inclusive and respectful of all, working towards reconciliation and understanding with Indigenous communities.
Labor Acknowledgment:
I also acknowledge and honor the labor and contributions of individuals from diverse backgrounds who have shaped this community. We recognize the work of generations of people who have contributed to the growth and well-being of this city.
I express gratitude for the labor of all those who have dedicated their time, skills, and energy to make Madison a vibrant and thriving community. This includes, but is not limited to, the labor of immigrants, refugees, people of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people with disabilities, who have enriched our city through their diverse experiences and perspectives.
I commit to creating an inclusive and equitable space that values and respects the labor of all individuals, and I stand in solidarity with efforts to ensure fair and just working conditions for everyone.
By acknowledging the land and labor on which this business stands, I hope to contribute to a more inclusive, respectful, and compassionate community for all who engage with my offerings.
Thank you for being part of my journey toward greater awareness and understanding.
